    2/3 of Americans are fat

Every pound lost is yet another victory

Fat people are hated. Sounds harsh, but it’s the truth.  You never hear of anyone making fun of a skinny person.  They are always making fat girl/guy jokes.

That is not true, and don’t let yourself believe that. The grass is just always greener. I did a rant on that not long ago, skinny people are judged and insulted in our own way. They may not point and laugh, but I’ve had nasty, jealous people make comments and spread rumors that I have an eating disorder or a drug problem (which I don’t, I just put in a lot of work over the years). That’s the stigma today. You’re not appreciated if you’re skinny, people just assume you’re on drugs then. Especially women, they have said some nasty things to me, the words would seem to be a compliment, but the tone was just downright nasty (“Oh, as if someone like you needs to eat a salad…”). Sometimes I would rather be fat, you’re more accepted that way since 2/3 of the country is, too.

People will say mean things no matter what. As long as you do it for yourself and not them, that’s all that matters. :) I just focused on being as healthy as I could and the pounds just seemed to fall off. Good luck with your goals. :)

  • Hey girl!

I’m so happy for you for the great progress you are making toward your goals!!!!  My life is finally returning to normal, and I got a chance to read all your recent posts.  Loved the walk, BTW.  I love hiking/walking and we look forward to doing some fun day hikes again now that it is cooling off.  To bad we don’t live closer or we could meet and go together.  Have an awesome day!

  • Sounds like you are determined!!  That is good.  I have heard many people get made fun of that are “skinny”.  There are many skinny jokes out there.  I’ve not been a subject of those jokes because I have not been what you would consider skinny.  I’ve been quite a bit thinner than I am now.  I’ve been on a diet twice and lost over 40 lbs. both times only to gain it all back both times.  I loved looking better and being thinner except for I couldn’t eat the things that my husband and children were eating…that wasn’t fun for me.  So I stopped and now I’m back to my original weight.  I think sometimes of how I should lose that weight again…but I just can’t get the drive to do so….or the initiative to get started again.  I pray you are successful in doing as you have set your goals to do.  It takes determination and it sounds like you have it.  Those are realistic goals  you have set and I know you can do it!!  You go girl!!

  • I need to follow your example

  • thanks for the comment on my post. I don’t know about this though. I’m of the opinion that as long as you’re healthy, that’s what matters. You shouldn’t bend to be what the media or society wants you to be… I mean, really “those who mind don’t matter and those who matter, mind.”

Plus… thighs that don’t touch… kinda scary if you ask me. No one who is healthy should be that skinny.
