  • The Stranger

I don't know who this is by but I think everyone should read it and think about it.

    The Stranger

A few months before I was born, my dad met a stranger who was new to
our small Tennessee town. From the beginning, Dad was fascinated with
this enchanting newcomer, and soon invited him to live with our family.
The stranger was quickly accepted and was around to welcome me into
the world a few months later.

As I grew up I never questioned his place in our family. In my young
mind, each member had a special niche. My brother, Bill, five years my
senior, was my example. Fran, my younger sister, gave me an opportunity
    to
play 'big brother' and develop the art of teasing. My parents were
complementary instructors-- Mom taught me to love the Word of God,
and Dad taught me to obey it.

But the stranger was our storyteller. He could weave the most fascinating
tales. Adventures, mysteries and comedies were daily conversations. He
could hold our whole family spell-bound for hours each evening.

If I wanted to know about politics, history, or science, he knew it all. He
knew about the past, understood the present, and seemingly could predict
the future. The pictures he could draw were so life like that I: would often
laugh or cry as I watched.

He was Iike a friend to the whole family. He took Dad, Bill and me to our
    first
major league baseball game. He was always encouraging us to see the
movies and he even made arrangements to introduce us to several movie
stars. My brother and I were deeply impressed by John Wayne in particular.

The stranger was an incessant talker. Dad didn' t seem to mind-but
sometimes Mom would quietly get up-- while the rest of us were
    enthralled with one of
his stories of faraway places-- go to her room, read her Bible and pray. I
wonder now if she ever prayed that the stranger would leave.

You see, my dad ruled our household with certain moral convictions. But
this stranger never felt obligation to honor them. Profanity, for example,
was not allowed in our house-- not from us, from our friends, or adults.
Our longtime visitor, however, used occasional four letter words that
burned my ears and made Dad squirm. To my knowledge the stranger
was never confronted. My dad was a teetotaler who didn't permit alcohol
    in
his home - not even for cooking. But the stranger felt 1ike we needed
exposure and enlightened us to other ways of life. He offered us beer
    and
    other alcoholic beverages often.

He made cigarettes look tasty, cigars manly, and pipes distinguished.
He talked freely (probably too much too freely) about sex. His comments
were sometimes blatant, sometimes sugestive, and generally embarrassing.
I know now that my early concepts of the man-woman relationship were influenced by the stranger,

As I look back, I believe it was the grace of God that the stranger
did not influence us more. Time after time he opposed the values of my
    parents.
Yet he was seldom rebuked and never asked to leave.

More than thirty years have passed since the stranger moved in with the
young family on Morningside Drive. He is not nearly so intriguing to my
Dad as he was in those early years. But if I were to walk into my parents'
den today, you would still see him sitting over in a corner, waiting for
someone to listen to him talk and watch him draw his pictures...

His name? We always just called him TV."

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Watching/reading/listening to these things is having pleasure in them that
do them. The bottom line is that when we participate as willing observers we are
having pleasure in sinners who are sinning. What abomination

Psalms 101:3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work
Of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

2 Timothy 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, DESPISERS OF THOSE THAT ARE GOOD, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of PLEASURES more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: FROM SUCH TURN AWAY.

But instead of turning away from these types of people, Christians across the land JUSTIFY their "right" to invite these people into their living rooms for entertainment!

2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye SEPARATE, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you...

2 Thessalonians 3:14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

In the second epistle of John, verses 9-11, we read:

9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the
doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of
Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

The Word of God tells us to not invite someone into our house who abideth not in the doctrine of Christ.

Do the people on your tv screen abide in the doctrine of Christ?

The Law of God tells us that we should not covet. Now what do you
suppose is the purpose of ALL advertising you see on tv? Is it to
encourage you to a simpler lifestyle? Is it to make you content with
the things that God has blessed you with?

Is your tv a "good thing"? Do you think that if the Lord Jesus were
here on earth today, He would sit and watch the things you watch?

  • Abortion

Isaiah 58:1  Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

ABORTION IS killing babies before they are born.

    Americans killed in the...
    Revolutionary War totaled.... 25,324
    Korean War ........................ 54,246
    Vietnam War ....................... 58,655
    WW I ................................ 116,708
    WW II ............................... 407,316
    Civil War ............................ 498,332
    Abortion ...... ................. 48,000,000

And we continue to lose 1.6 million Americans every year to Abortion (60 million worldwide yearly).

    171 Americans/hr; 3/minute and 2 worldwide/sec
30% of all American babies are killed every year.

    How do they kill babies?

(There are at least 6 kinds of abortion.)
    1. D & C A tiny hoe is used to scrape the womb cutting the baby to pieces.
    2. Suction Abortion A powerful suction tube sucks the baby into a jar in pieces.
    3. Saline Abortion A long needle is inserted through the mother's abdomen and a strong salt solution is injected into the amniotic fluid surrounding the child. The salt is swallowed and absorbed into the baby burning his skin. The mother goes into labor and expels a shriveled and visibly burnt baby. Sometimes the baby is born alive writhing in pain.
    4. D & E (also by D & X) (dilatation and evacuation) Forceps are used to crush the baby's head and pull out the body parts.
    5. Hysterectomy or C-section The baby is killed in the uterus after major surgery.

    Biblical Principles regarding ABORTION

    The Unborn is a person!

Genesis 1:26 (KJV) And God said, Let us make man in our image, ...
Man is not like an animal. God made man in His own image with the ability to think. Do you realize that Unborn babies have heartbeats in 18 days? and detectable brain waves in 40 days?

The BIBLE teaches that it is more than "tissue."

Psalm 139:13 (KJV) For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
Psalm 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: ...
Psalm 139:15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, ...
Psalm 139:16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
vs 13---He existed in his mother's womb.
vs 15---"curiously wrought" is the same term meaning "fine needlework embroidery."
The baby in the uterus is UNIQUE AND ALIVE. Otherwise, there would be no need for an abortion. We are HIS handiwork.
Job 10:8 (KJV) Thine hands have made me and fashioned me together round about; ...
Job acknowledged that God made him. So, to abort a baby is to work against GOD.
Isaiah 49:1 (KJV) Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
Isaiah 49:5 And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, ...
God calls his men from the womb and mentions their name. These unborn are persons already.
Jeremiah 1:4 (KJV) Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
God formed Jeremiah. God knew him. He was a person while unborn. God ordained him a prophet while unborn. I wonder how many preachers were killed in the 27 million babies we have killed in the past 20 years in America?
Judges 13:7 (KJV) But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death.

The UNBORN IS A CHILD--A BABY.
Luke 1:41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
Hey, blobs and tissue do not leap.
Exodus 21:4 (KJV) If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself.
Exodus 21:22 If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
The Old Testament Hebrew uses the same word, "yeled", to refer to a born baby OR to an unborn baby.
Luke 1:41 (KJV) And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
Acts 7:19 The same dealt subtly with our kindred, and evil entreated our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live.
The New Testament Greek uses the same word, "brephos," for a born OR unborn baby.
Hey, to God, the unborn child is already a human being. He is a PERSON.

    The SANCTITY OF LIFE.
Exodus 20:13 (KJV) Thou shalt not kill.
Our civilization is built on the right to life!!
Proverbs 6:16 (KJV) These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
Proverbs 6:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
These babies are innocent. They have done nothing wrong--certainly not worthy of death. Abortionists, the doctors, nurses, and mothers are guilty of shedding their innocent blood--- AND THE LORD HATES IT! It is an abomination (shameful, despicable).
Exodus 21:22 (KJV) If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
Exodus 21:23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
    MISCHIEF = HURT
Abortionists say vs 22 shows the unborn's death carries a fine while the death of the mother (vs 23) is greater and carries a death penalty. Therefore, the unborn is not a person, they say.
But examine vs 28-37. vs 29 says that if an ox kills a free man, the owner has to be killed, but vs 32 says that if an ox kills a slave, the owner has to pay a fine. Shall we conclude that slaves are not real, full persons and can be killed? NO
The true interpretation of vs 22-23 is: two men fight, one of them hits a pregnant woman, and she prematurely delivers the baby. IF there is no hurt to the mother or to the child, then the guilty man just pays a fine. IF there is hurt or death to the mother or to the child, the guilty man pays accordingly---life for life. (AND this is only for accidental hurt but abortionists and mothers abort deliberately.)

In fact baby killing is a horrendous crime that is condemned throughout scripture:
    Genesis 15:16; Leviticus 18:21; Deuteronomy 18:10; II Kings 16:3; 21:6.
Psalm 106:38 (KJV) And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.
What do you suppose God would do to a nation that allowed the shedding of their own children's blood?
Psalm 106:40 (KJV) Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.
Psalm 106:41 And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.
Psalm 106:42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.

AMERICA HAS SET ITSELF AGAINST GOD IN THE ABORTING OF ITS BABIES AND GOD'S
    JUDGMENT IS NOT FAR BEHIND.

Every movement of oppression and exploitation has labeled itself pro-choice---slavery, prostitution, pornography, drug dealing, abortion, alcohol, cigarettes, etc. The pro-choice position always overlooks the victim's rights.
The Blacks did not choose slavery.
The Jews did not choose the ovens.
The babies have not chosen abortion.

Some say "It is best not to bring unwanted children into this world---child abuse will increase."
There are 100,000 babies released yearly for ADOPTION. 1.6 MILLION are aborted and 1.5 MILLION people are waiting to ADOPT. Every child is wanted and could have a home in America.
Cases of child abuse should have greatly decreased if their logic is correct. However, child abuse cases have ballooned from 167,000 in 1973 to 2.5 million in 1991. A study of 674 abuse children in California shows that 91% came from planned pregnancies. We can conclude that child abuse is not an argument for abortion. In fact,
ABORTION is the ULTIMATE CHILD ABUSE.

What are the ramifications of Abortion?

The estrangement of women from their children.
Romans 1:31 says the reprobates are without natural affection.
II Timothy 3:3 says that the end-time will be characterized by folks without natural affection. It's only natural for a
mother to WANT and love her children.

    Abortion promotes immorality.
79% of abortions are performed on the unmarried (not to mention the abortions performed on immoral married women). ABORTION is an immoral solution to an immoral act (in at least 79% of the cases).
You see that the unborn baby invades these women's rights by tattling on their promiscuity (sin). 75% said, a child would interfere with their lives.xiv

The doctors are motivated by MONEY, not the woman's rights. ($500 million business)
If a regular doctor makes $100,000/yr in an area, an abortion doctor would make $345,000+/yr for just 20-30 hours/wk. And consider that there is no overhead to speak of, there is no being on-call, and there is no fear of malpractice. Additionally, there are over 101 uses for aborted babies including cosmetics and the sale of bodies. No wonder they hire and train marketing directors in how to sell abortions. Women are often not given the alternatives.

Abortion will finally lead to Euthanasia and extermination of undesirables.
Randy Alcorn wrote that Margaret Sanger was the first president of Planned Parenthood (1920), the world's largest abortion promoter and provider. Sanger believed "Negroes and Southern Europeans were mentally inferior to natural born Americans" and that Jews and other minorities were 'feeble-minded,' 'human weeds,' and a 'menace to Society.' She argued that they should be sterilized.
The 1988 stats on abortions show that 22.5 white women/1000 have abortions while 53.7 Black women/1000 have abortions. Additionally, the average children/American woman has dropped from 3.7 (before 1972) to 1.8 (since 1972-- legalization of abortion).
America is a dying population. Any population increases since 1972 have been due to immigration. So---Blacks and all of America are the victims of abortions.
Do you remember that Nazi Germany killed 350,000 so-called undesirables (aged, infirmed, handicapped and retarded) before they exterminated the Jews?

AMERICA IS AGAINST GOD. Jesus loves the little children. America hates them. America loves her sin, money and convenience.

    What can we do?

We must live by moral example.
I Thessalonians 4:3 says that it is God's will for us to abstain from fornication. WE MUST SET THE EXAMPLE.

We must pray. No one else will pray for our country if Christians do not. God places this responsibility on us.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

We must be informed (not from TV media). Know the truth. Study the Bible. Learn about abortion facts. Share them with neighbors and relatives.

Write Political Leaders and voice your opinion.

Encourage mothers-to-be to have their children.

    Distribute Pro-Life material.

IF YOU CARE, YOU WILL DO SOMETHING. IT'S YOUR COUNTRY.

  • FENCING IN THE WILDPIGS (Analogy to Creeping Socialism)

NOTE: I got this from my friends blog and she got it from a circulating email, but a very good point!

There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some
exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab,
the professor noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing
his back and stretching as if his back hurt. The professor asked the
young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet
lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his
native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government
and install a new communist government. In the midst of his story he
looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked, 'Do you
know how to catch wild pigs?' The professor thought it was a joke and
asked for the punch line. The young man said this was no joke. 'You
catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting
corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat
the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence
down one side of the place where theyare used to coming. When they get
used to the fence, they begin to eat thecorn again and you put up
another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat
again. You continue until you have all four sides ofthe fence up with a
gate in the last side. The pigs, who are used to the free corn, start
to come through the gate to eat, so you slam the gate on them and catch
the whole herd. Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They
run around and aroundinside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they
go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have
forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept
their captivity. The young man then told the professor that is exactly
what he sees happening to America . The government keeps pushing us
toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the
form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned
income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops
(CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, free medical, etc., while we
continually lose our freedoms - just a little at a time. One should
always remember: There is no such thing as a free lunch! Also, a
politician will never provide a service for you cheaper than you can do
it yourself. If you see that all of this wonderful government 'help' is
a problem confronting the future of democracy in America , you might
want to send this on to your friends. If you think the free ride is
essential to your way of life then you will probably delete this email,
but God help you when the gate slams shut!

    'A government big enough to
give you everything you want, is big enough to take away everything you
    have.' .... Thomas Jefferson
