I want to post what Martin Luther King Jr said (and the youtube video of it) then I want to post my thoughts

I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.

Five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity.

But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. And so we’ve come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.

In a sense we’ve come to our nation’s capital to cash a check. When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir. This note was a promise that all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the “unalienable Rights” of “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note, insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked “insufficient funds.”

But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. And so, we’ve come to cash this check, a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.

We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of Now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God’s children.

It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment. This sweltering summer of the Negro’s legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning. And those who hope that the Negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. And there will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights. The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.

But there is something that I must say to my people, who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice: In the process of gaining our rightful place, we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred. We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again, we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.

The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. And they have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom.

We cannot walk alone.

And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead.

We cannot turn back.

There are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, “When will you be satisfied?” We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality. We can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. We cannot be satisfied as long as the negro’s basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one. We can never be satisfied as long as our children are stripped of their self-hood and robbed of their dignity by a sign stating: “For Whites Only.” We cannot be satisfied as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until “justice rolls down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream.”

I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from narrow jail cells. And some of you have come from areas where your quest — quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive. Go back to Mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to South Carolina, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed.

Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends.

And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today!

I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of “interposition” and “nullification” — one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.

I have a dream today!

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; “and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.”²

This is our hope, and this is the faith that I go back to the South with.

With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

And this will be the day — this will be the day when all of God’s children will be able to sing with new meaning:

    My country ’tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing.

    Land where my fathers died, land of the Pilgrim’s pride,

    From every mountainside, let freedom ring!

And if America is to be a great nation, this must become true.

And so let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire.

    Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York.

    Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania.

    Let freedom ring from the snow-capped Rockies of Colorado.

    Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California.

But not only that:

    Let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia.

    Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee.

    Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi.

    From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

And when this happens, when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God’s children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual:

                Free at last! Free at last!

                Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!

Why am I posting this? A few reasons.

One reason is because He had a dream. Many people feel Obama running for president is part of the fulfillment of this dream. Many African-American people are voting for Obama because he is “not white”. THIS IS NOT WHAT Martin Luther King Jr WANTED!!! What he dreamed was that “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a
nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by
the content of their character.” People who vote for a person because of the color of their skin have not gotten where Martin Luther King Jr wished us to be. It is still looking at the color of skin. If people vote based of the color of skin weither it be for or against Obama (weither the person is white or african-american) then we have not grown at all. We have not moved forward at all.

He said “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the
true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident,
that all men are created equal.”

If a person is voting against Obama because he is “not white” then we are not there yet.

If a person is voting FOR Obama because he iS “not white” then we are not there yet.

ONE IS AS BAD AS THE OTHER!!! ONE IS AS RACIST AS THE OTHER!!!

It goes either way weither you are white, or African American if you are voting for a person (or against a person) based on the color of their skin THEN YOU ARE A RASIST!!!

I have a dream.

I have a dream that one day Martin Luther King Jr’s dream will be realized. That we will all beable to live together and be one people. To not judge one another based on the color of skin. To not vote based on the color of skin. To live together and not care about the color of skin. I will be praying for his dream to come true.

So when you go to vote on Tuesday weither you vote for McCain, Obama, Baldwin, Barr or someone else, Please vote for them because you agree with their platform and character and not the color of their skin.

Overcoming Evil

Halloween is a high day in Pagan worship. The occult is becoming increasingly popular in media and entertainment but at the same time moving away from the belief in a literal devil. Witchcraft is glamorized and glorified (Harry Potter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Horoscopes, music, video games).

I could keep going. Is this harmless fun? Or is the devil active behind these things?

The devil is a real spirit being with a lot of power. His primary tool is deception. Making people believe he doesn’t exist or that it is all harmless fun.

2Co 11:14  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

We need to be discerning. Devil goes by many names: Satan, Lucifer, Beelzebub, Serpent, Deceiver, Accuser of the brethren, Father of lies, Prince of this world,Dragon, Thief.

1/3 of the angels in heaven joined Satan in his rebellion. They are demons.

Isa 14:12  How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Isa 14:13  For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
Isa 14:14  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Isa 14:15  Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Rev 12:7  And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
Rev 12:8  And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
Rev 12:9  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Behind pain, terror, murder, rape, war, porn, etc is Satan and the demons. Satan wants to destroy all God created. All that God called good.

The devil came to kill, steal and destroy.

His goal is to discredit Christians and the Gospel. He tries to disarm us so that we are helpless and not a threat. He tries to defeat us and make us lukewarm. The bible warns us not to play with the devil’s things (plam reading, tarot cards, Ouija board, psychics, etc).

1Pe 5:8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

When we are aware evil is lurking we need to be on guard. There is a lion out there. He is the devil and he is after your children. THE DEVIL IS AFTER YOUR CHILDREN!!!! He is evil and he wants your children. He doesn’t play fair. He is going after them now. He wont wait until they are 16. He will try for them at 6, 10 etc. WAKE UP!!!! This is reality. Take precautions. God gives a strong warning.

Deu 18:10  There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
Deu 18:11  Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
Deu 18:12  For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

God destroyed entire nations because of their occult practices. We are to stay away from all occult no matter how harmless it may seem.

God didn’t leave us to fight the devil on our own. He sent Jesus. Jesus came to defeat the devil. Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of sin. When Jesus died on the cross Satan was defeated. We can resist Satan in Jesus name.

1Jo 4:4  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Satan is not equal to God. God is almighty. Satan is not. Satan was made by God. Satan can only be in one place at a time. Then there are demons that are places too. There are a lot of them but God has 2 angels for every 1 demon. Satan doesn’t know everything. He is desperate. He knows that his time is short. The devil has already lost.

Rev 20:10  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Rev 20:15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

The good news is we can enjoy heaven and the devil can’t stop us us. We don’t need to live in fear of the devil.

How do we overcome the devil? How do we live in victory?

1. Accept Jesus as you Lord and Savior.
All those outside of Christ legally belong to the devil. They are the devils property because of sin. If you die and are outside of Christ then Satan claims your soul.

Col 1:13  Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
Col 1:14  In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins

We have been bought. We were rescued by Jesus. Whoever calls on Jesus has the right to be a child of God. It doesn’t matter how bad you were. You have the right to accept Jesus. The devil can’t stop you. If you don’t give your life to Jesus you soul belongs to the devil.

Joh 1:12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

2. Submit yourself to God.

Jam 4:7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

If we resist he will flee. To many Christians are compromising instead of resisting. To many play around the edge. RESIST the devil.

3. Overcome the devil by using the name of Jesus.

Luk 10:17  And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
Luk 10:18  And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Luk 10:19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Devil in the name of Jesus stop. We can stand in the name of Jesus. You have God standing behind you. You have the power. In Jesus Name I take my stand. The spirit relm will take notice. The devil recognizes this power. He recognizes that you have the whole kingdom of God standing behind you. Does the devil know who you are? The devil knows those in Christ and recognizes God’s power in you. We have authority over the devil. Authority to enforce God’s will on the earth. God uses us to enforce His will. In Jesus name we need not fear the devil.  The devil fears us because he knows who is standing behind us.

4. Use the weapon of scripture against the devil.

Eph 6:17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

There is authority and power in the word of God.
Jesus used scripture to rebuke Satan.
The bible says this…
God says …….

5. Put on the whole armor of God

 Eph 6:11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

There is a battle going on. Our fight isn’t against people. We are in a war. It isn’t the flesh. It is spiritual. It is a War. WAKE UP!! It is a spiritual war.

6. Overcome the devil with a good testimony.

Rev 12:11  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Sin gives the devil a doorway in your life. If there is a demon there, there is a reason. Repent of the works of darkness and sin in your life.

7. Overcome evil by doing good.

Move in the opposite direction of the devil. If someone curses you respond kindly.

Rom 12:21  Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Respond like Jesus would.

The spirit realm is real. Satan is real. We need to walk in victory. Jesus paid the price. Victory over the devil through Jesus. Drug addict and alcoholics can be set free through Jesus.

Pray for your children. Pray in the name of Jesus that God would protect them. Greater is He who is in us then he who is in the world.

The reality is that if you are not yet a Christian. If you have not accepted Christ. Have not surrendered you life to the Lord, then you are property of Satan and your soul belongs to him.

Please surrender your life to the Lord. This is real. This wont go away after Halloween. This is true everyday.

Prayer Request: That I don’t end up with pneumonia again. I am having a cold/mucus issues. Please keep in your prayers that I do not end up with pneumonia again.

Do you keep track of how many calories you eat a day? If so what is your average.

If you don’t keep track do you just try to eat healthy? Do you try to eat perfect portions? or do you just eat whatever?

What is your idea of a perfect day food wise?

My husband just found out that they are shutting down night shift. Luckily (Praise the Lord) Barry will be moving to day shift. Still only 32 hours a week I believe…not sure on the hours I think 7am -3:30pm

The prayer request is for Barry’s two co-workers on night shift Mike and Llyod who got laid off. Please keep them in your prayers.

More details… They also laid off 3 day shift guys (2 of them are close to retirement age) and The hours they will be work are 6am- 4:30pm Monday through Thursday, which totals 40 hours a week. with Friday, Saturday and Sunday off.

3 lbs. beef chopped up
1 cup rice
2 med. onions, chopped
2 cups celery, chopped
4 chopped carrots
4 bay leaves
2 cups tomato juice
4 med. potatoes, diced
3 qts. water
Salt and pepper

Simmer in crockpot.  Extra water can be added if needed.

Can put in crockpot in the morning and eat at night. If doing for that long cook on low.
