Psalm 10
Psalms 10:1-18 KJV Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble? (2) The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined. (3) For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth. (4) The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. (5) His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them. (6) He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity. (7) His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity. (8) He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor. (9) He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net. (10) He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones. (11) He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it. (12) Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble. (13) Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it. (14) Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless. (15) Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none. (16) The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land. (17) LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: (18) To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.
This Psalm is a petition to G-d to pour out His judgment upon the wicked.
We all may have felt this way before, that G-d is distant, that He doesn’t seem to answer our prayers in times of trouble. And again, you must walk by faith, falling back on what you know of G-d, His character, His love for you. He is there right beside you even in times of trials.
In the Hebrew the phrase (אין אלוהים נמצא את המחשבות) “G-d is in none of his thoughts” can be translated “all his thoughts are there is no G-d.” Man is continually trying to convince himself that there is no G-d, and as they continue down this path their hearts are growing cold to what G-d has placed in their, that there is a G-d and mans desire to find Him.
The wicked prey on the helpless and the innocent. Think of all the innocent children that are murdered in the womb every day. Their screams are silent to us, but G-d hears them. There are over 1,600,000 babies aborted in the United States every year, over 4,000 per hour. Since abortion was legalized in 1973 well over 20,000,000 babies have been murdered compared to all those killed from the Revolutionary War through the Vietnam War, which amounted to 1,160,581. How sad a nation we have become.
When a person tells himself that G-d isn’t paying attention or G-d doesn’t care, then the restraints are thrown off.
Ezekiel had a vision where he was taken to Jerusalem and shown some of the secret things that happened in the Temple. In a way, it’s a picture of what people do in their hearts and minds (also a temple).Ezek 8:8-12 KJV Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door. {9} And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here. {10} So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed upon the wall round about. {11} And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up. {12} Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.
Secret images in the dark. Wicked things. Because they thought G-d didn’t care or see.
The reason they continue down this evil path is they don’t believe there will be a judgment. They don’t believe they will have to stand before G-d. How wrong they are.
G-d will deal with the wicked. They won’t get away with anything. And G-d does stand up for the fatherless, the widowed, and the orphaned.
Shalom

I just came over from homefire’s site after reading your comment. I am so very sorry someone criticized you for your comment on their site. Definitely not nice of them. I hope you have a wonderful day. I like your background and banner ~
Very true, I praise God that He does know all things and it is up to Him to judge, thankfully because if it was up to us on earth, we would be in some serious trouble. Thank you for sharing your insight on this. May He bless you. Shalom Rav!
