  • Would you survive?

Would you have survived 100 years ago where you live without Air conditioning?

Ever since my last bout of Pneumonia I can not have Air Conditioning in our house. A/C makes my lungs hurt. When people find this out they tend to be shocked. They don't see how we can survive in the summer without A/C.

I find it funny because Air Conditioners in people's houses are a moderately new invention. It hasn't been that long that people have had them in their houses and now people are saying that they wouldn't survive the Summer without them.

Do you have A/c in your house?
Do you think that you need it or would you be ok without it?

  • ADONAI, I say that my task is to observe your words

Psalms 119:57-64  (Het) ADONAI, I say that my task is to observe your words.  (58)  I beg your favor with my whole heart; show pity to me, in keeping with your promise.  (59)  I thought about my ways and turned my feet toward your instruction.  (60)  I hurry, I don't delay, to observe your mitzvot.  (61)  Even when the cords of the wicked close around me, I don't forget your Torah.  (62)  At midnight I rise to give you thanks because of your righteous rulings.  (63)  I am a friend of all who fear you, of those who observe your precepts.  (64)  The earth, ADONAI, is full of your grace; teach me your laws.

It is good to surround yourself with strong believers because they will help you keep on track, just as you will help them with their walk. If you hang around those that are playing with fire, living immoral lifestyles, you will get burned. As Paul said in I Corinthians 15:33, "Do not be deceived: "Evil company corrupts good habits."

    Midnight praise

Acts 16:16-25 KJV And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: {17} The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which show unto us the way of salvation. {18} And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. {19} And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers, {20} And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city, {21} And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans. {22} And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. {23} And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely: {24} Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. {25} And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

How could Paul and Silas praise G-d after having been arrested and beaten?

I wonder if the psalmist isn't giving us a clue that when we learn to trust in G-d's judgment, when we learn to trust what He says in His Word, then we can praise G-d even at midnight in a prison.

  • More Lovely Things

Here are a few lovely outfits (Saudi Jalabiyas) I found by Wahat Al-Jalabiya. I have never ordered any of their clothes. I get my clothes from Alhannah.com. But this place has some really nice stuff and I had to share some of the pictures with you. What do you think? Would you wear any of these?

  • Prayer request -- Grandfather

Please keep my grandfather (Wayne Martin) in your prayers. He has diabetes and has these sores (Ulcer type things) on his legs. Being a diabetic healing is not an easy thing. He has had these for awhile and they gave a special medicated wrap for his legs and the wrap is really bothering him and his leg smells like it is rotting.

Please keep him in your prayers. Prayers for health and healing. Thank you

(Please pass this on to anyone that will pray for him.)

  • Remember your promise to your servant

Psalms 119:49-56  (Zayin) Remember your promise to your servant, through which you have given me hope.  (50)  In my distress my comfort is this: that your promise gives me life.  (51)  Though the arrogant scorn me completely, I have not turned away from your Torah.  (52)  ADONAI, I keep in mind your age-old rulings; in them I take comfort.  (53)  Fury seizes me when I think of the wicked, because they abandon your Torah.  (54)  Your laws have become my songs wherever I make my home.  (55)  I remember your name, ADONAI, at night; and I observe your Torah.  (56)  This [comfort] has come to me, because I observe your precepts.

    Comfort in the Word

Don't let life's circumstances cause you to doubt the promises of G-d.

It is frustrating to see people willingly transgress the law of G-d, mocking it. But don't let your righteous anger cause you to become bitter or think of yourself better than them. Let it drive you back to the Word of G-d and cause you to pray for them realizing that the only reason we stand clean, as white as snow, is because of the righteousness that has been imputed to us through Yahshua.

    Blessings and Shalom

  • Teach me, ADONAI, the way of your laws

Psalms 119:33-48  (Heh) Teach me, ADONAI, the way of your laws; keeping them will be its own reward for me.  (34)  Give me understanding; then I will keep your Torah; I will observe it with all my heart.  (35)  Guide me on the path of your mitzvot, for I take pleasure in it.  (36)  Bend my heart toward your instructions and not toward selfish gain.  (37)  Turn my eyes away from worthless things; with your ways, give me life.  (38)  Fulfill your promise, which you made to your servant, which you made to those who fear you.  (39)  Avert the disgrace which I dread, for your rulings are good.  (40)  See how I long for your precepts; in your righteousness, give me life!  (41)  May your grace come to me, ADONAI, your salvation, as you promised;  (42)  then I will have an answer for those who taunt me; for I trust in your word.  (43)  Don't take away completely my power to speak the truth; for I put my hope in your rulings;  (44)  and I will keep your Torah always, forever and ever.  (45)  I will go wherever I like, for I have sought your precepts.  (46)  I will speak of your instructions even to kings without being ashamed.  (47)  I will delight myself in your mitzvot, which I have loved.  (48)  I will lift my hands to your mitzvot, which I love; and I will meditate on your laws.

    Heh Change of Heart

A heart that is steadfast in G-d and His Word will not fall prey to the things of this world. It is when we develop a wandering heart that we fall prey to these things that will not build us up, but tear us down.

Our eyes are easily drawn to so many worthless things that appeal to our flesh, and they are not of G-d

1 John 2:15-17  Do not love the world or the things of the world. If someone loves the world, then love for the Father is not in him;  (16)  because all the things of the world - the desires of the old nature, the desires of the eyes, and the pretensions of life - are not from the Father but from the world.  (17)  And the world is passing away, along with its desires. But whoever does God's will remains forever.

Hunger after G-d and His word.

  • Burqas not welcome in France

I just got done reading this article.

France is talking about taking away the right of women to wear a Burqa outside the home. This is not a new thing for France who has already taken away the rights to wear a headcovering or Hijab and attend schooling. Now they are trying to take away the rights of women to wear a burqa and niqab when they go out.

Why are places like France trying to ban women from dressing in a way that they think is modest?
Why does a person have to remove their Hijab to be able to get an education?

What are your thoughts on this? Should a government be allowed to tell a woman that she has to go against her religious beliefs or her thoughts on modesty? Does the government have the right to make women remove their burqa when they want to wear it?

  • I lie prostrate in the dust

Psalms 119:25-32  (Dalet) I lie prostrate in the dust; revive me, in keeping with your word.  (26)  I told you of my ways, and you answered me; teach me your laws.  (27)  Make me understand the way of your precepts, and I will meditate on your wonders.  (28)  I am melting away from anxiety and grief; renew my strength, in keeping with your word.  (29)  Keep deceitful ways far from me, and favor me with your Torah.  (30)  I choose the way of trust; I set your rulings [before me].  (31)  I cling to your instruction; ADONAI, don't let me be put to shame!  (32)  I will run the way of your mitzvot, for you have broadened my understanding.

    DALETH G-d's Word Strengthens

You can fill your life living in sin and it will bring you pleasure for a time, but it is only temporary. True joy is found in G-d, being obedient to His Word.

His Word give gives us life. It lifts us out of the dust. It strengthens us.

When G-d reveals an area in your life that you need to change, do you run to obey it? I think many times we drag our feet, holding on as long as possible to it. But the more we obey the more our heart grows in love with G-d and His Word.

    Blessings and Shalom

  • Pictures from the most exciting day

Well, I took pictures of going to White Oak Church of the Brethren and the Reed's house. So I will share a few of them with you.

The first one is of me before we left this morning

Here are the ones I took at White Oak Church of the Brethren after church was over

These are my friends Cheryl and Jenny

    This is Cheryl's little girl

This is Shawn (Cheryl's husband) and their little boy.
He is the one who was preaching this morning. He is a really really great preacher. It was a wonderful message.

Now the Pictures from the Reed's house.
We had so much fun talking and chatting with them. We also enjoyed eating Lois' wonderful food.  She cooked some really good food. Frank even ran around outside with the children and they had so much fun. It was such a blessing to be able to spend the afternoon with them.
