Here are some pictures….Enjoy the picture post.
Does your town have a Fair, Farm show and Parade?
I have never seen the point of visiting someones grave. This morning I will be taking grandma to “Visit” grandpa. We will be going to his grave. I know that many people do this. I have never totally understood it.
Do you visit the graves of friends and family who have died? Why? Why not?
Can someone explain this custom to me?
I think that the “depression” from all that has happened the past 3 months has finally hit me today. I have a major case of the furlates (Not sure the English word for it…maybe someone can help me with that one).
I am just a bit niedergeschlagen today.
First I want to say thank you to everyone who has voted for me in round one and two. I am very shocked to be in round three.

At the bottom of my post will be a few videos that I have made. First a post about why I consider myself a blogger and what a blogger is.
(I am writing this Friday night because I know I wont have time to write this after this. My husbands grandfather died unexpectedly on Wednesday so that is what is taking up most of my time from now until Monday, but that is off-topic.)
What is a blogger and why am I one?
Well, really a blogger is a person who writes blogs. There are many different types of bloggers. Some write about their life, some about religion, politics, fashion or any and all of the above.
I have been a blogger for years.
I have had this xanga account since July 2006. I love it. I have made wonderful friends. I love writing. I am a blogger who writes about many things. Some of the things I write are controversial and some aren’t. I write about my life, family and children. I write about hijab and modesty and the law and things like that…those things can be controversial as can my religious post. I also recently started with some video blogging which is fun too.
I love writing blogs and reading the comments that they get. I also love reading other peoples blogs. I am so happy to be a part of this wonderful blogging community.

Ok…I have some new pictures here and I am trying to decide which to use for my profile image. What do you think? Do you like them? Which one do you like best? (Feel free to recommend this…I would love to hear from as many people as possible to help me decide…thanks)
So, which do you think should be my new profile image?
I was going to put a picture of Abercrombie & Fitch here for this story
but could not find one that didn’t look pornographic
Eight years after the terrorist attacks of 9/11, Americans see Muslims as facing more discrimination inside the U.S. than other major religious groups. Nearly six-in-ten adults (58%) say that Muslims are subject to a lot of discrimination, far more than say the same about Jews, evangelical Christians, atheists or Mormons.
A Muslim teen in Oklahoma is alleging that a manager at an Oklahoma Abercrombie & Fitch refused to hire her because her head scarf “didn’t fit the chain’s image.” A Muslim civil rights group has filed a federal complaint on the girl’s behalf, citing the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which states that an employer must reasonably accommodate employees’ religious practices.
If it’s any consolation to the under-18 teen, not conforming to the “Abercrombie image?” Definitely a compliment.
I would gladly eat at a restaurant where the workers ALL wore HEADSCARVES (or hairnets), like in the good old day when people CARED about HYGIENE, especially in food production and serving situations. Might cut down on the number of hairs falling into our food.
“Employers have a clear legal duty to accommodate the religious practices of their workers,” said CAIR-OK Executive Director Razi Hashmi. “To deny someone employment because of apparent religious bias goes against long-standing American traditions of tolerance and inclusion.”
In a letter to Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Michael Jefferies, CAIR-OK asked the company to 1) offer the Muslim applicant a formal apology, 2) clarify the company’s policy on religious accommodation, and 3) institute workplace sensitivity and diversity training.
Abercrombie and Fitch have a market a certain lifestyle that is not really compatible with the teachings of Islam or Christianity.
“Defendant refused to hire Ms. Elauf because she wears a hijab, claiming that the wearing of headgear was prohibited by its Look Policy, and, further, failed to accommodate her religious beliefs by making an exception to the Look Policy,” the lawsuit states.
Elauf went to the Council on American-Islamic Relations-Oklahoma, which helped her file a complaint with the EEOC in Oklahoma City.
The Civil Rights Act protects people from discrimination based upon religion in hiring and in the terms of their employment, an EEOC press release says.
This isn’t the first time the store’s image policy has been called into question. In 2004, the EEOC waved the Civil Rights Act, saying the retailer had adopted a restrictive marketing image that limited the hiring of minorities, who did not conform to the image:

My husband has been spending this morning painting a little John Deere lawn mower BLUE. Why blue? Well, grandma Kramer wants to put a blue lawn mower in the casket with Grandpa Kramer. ( http://kristenmomof3.xanga.com/712236798/obituary-of-ivan-luther-kramer/) We could not find a blue lawn mower so Barry painted one.
I thought that I would share the process with you.
What do you think?
