  • they will discover one day that they are on the wrong side of history with this vote. when they get to their pearly gates, may their maker place as much judgment on them as they have done to their fellow human beings.

  • This is discusting.  They want our young people to go and die for our country but they are condemning them for something that is not even a crime.

  • This saddens me to no end. I was in the Air Force for a glorious 3 months (I got medically discharged) and I wouldn’t have minded one bit serving with an openly gay or lesbian person. I do know of some girls I got discharged with who, as they were leaving, told us all they were a lesbian (since they were going home anyways it wasn’t like they had anything to lose).

I mean, it takes a lot of guts to go to a recruiter, do all the paper work, medical processing, BEFORE you even get to swear in! Anyone who would go through that process to protect and defend this nation is respected by me. I know how much it took for me to do all that, and then go to basic, and even how it feels when they kick you out.
In my honest opinion gays and lesbians in the military sacrifice much more than a straight person like me. At least I didn’t have to hide who I really was while I was there.

  • This is a very sad day for the military and the LGBT community. And for those of us who support them both.

  • Very sad, indeed.
