CAIRO — An Egyptian reporter who was shot during clashes a week ago died of his wounds Friday, his employer said, in the first reported death of a journalist in the chaos surrounding Egypt’s anti-government protests.
Ahmed Mohammed Mahmoud, 36, was taking photographs of fighting between protesters and security forces from the balcony of his home when he was shot Jan. 28, state-run newspaper Al-Ahram said on its website.

Inna lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raji’oon. To God we belong and to Him we return.
People will be raised in the deed they were last doing. I pray he gets to be in the highest levels of heaven, where he can pursue journalistic endeavors amongst the best of men, like asking Moses (as) what his times were like. and getting it all played back in real time. and maybe he can then spread the word to his loved ones, spreading nothing but the truth, and his loved ones loving him only all the more by it, all the more for it.
Thanks Kris
if people did that here they would get shot too. Makes you wonder if MOB Rule is ever right or the Dominate thugs in power deserve the punishment of a crowd. Hard to know because people have elected tyrants in before in history who did worse evil..
This is upsetting.
I’ve seen various footages of reporters getting attacked, one of them being Anderson Cooper, and it is just sickening. Those attackers want to create fear and they want to drive the journalists and reporters out. It’s like they’re trying to hide something.
I also stand with the people of Egypt.
