Dear Friends and readers
Dear Friend,
Imagine that one day Facebook suddenly erased your identity from its social network- What would you do? The right to an online identity is something that most of us have come to take for granted, yet there are millions of people in every part of the world who are denied this right.
What we love about Facebook is the ability for people to create and customize online identities to reflect our lives. When it comes to languages, we can list virtually any language in the world, or even make up languages- how else could we show off our fluency in “Language of Love”? If our ability to choose religions, languages, and interests are limitless, why should Facebook impose limits on something as essential as gender?
Join me and urge Facebook to become a vehicle, not a roadblock, in the uphill drive for recognition and respect of trans identities:

Done! Don’t understand why Facebook would not want to make such a simple fix, when it would be more welcoming and accommodating for so many people…
I think they should remove the whole gender question. Whatever they’ll do, it won’t be good enough. Ever.
Done!
Having an online identity is not a right. Rights are endowed by God, not Facebook.
And gender is male or female. Pick one.
I just signed. Hope this helps!
Definition of Gender: Socially defined behavior regarded as appropriate for the members of each sex
Definition of Sex: The biological categories of females and males.
These are definition from Sociology dictionaries. It’s just semantics. Sex defines your genetic make-up. Gender is perception. If they’d give an option of both or simply dismiss the class, I’d support it. Pay no attention to Curtis over there. He does not know how to separate religion from state. (psssssst. I think he worships Fox News more than his own God)
@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace - And gender is male or female. Pick one
Hermaphrodite!
Done!
o__O
I’m sorry, but I really can’t take seriously any “plight” that views recognition on Facebook as a major human right or lack of recognition on Facebook as a burden.
@DominatingThinspo - Does asshole have a gender?
Well then, neither does hermaphrodite.
I would, but I rarely have anything to do with facebook, sorry
Now that I read that, I sounded a lot more harsh than I intended. I just have a hard time seeing Facebook as a major factor in anyone’s life. If this is the only battle left to fight, then the issues can’t be that serious.
@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace - so people born XXY with genitalia that is not clearly male or female are equivalent to assholes? Just checking
@blonde_apocalypse - I agree… I think there are other causes far more important to be fighting for. Like basic human rights in China.
@jenessa1889 - Look between your own legs and do your own checking. I don’t want any part of this.
Life without Facebook is pretty awesome.
did it
doing it . done!
