  • People that don’t remember their past are damned to repeat it. Memory doesn’t mean revenge just awarness of our mistakes in order to never trip over the same stone.

  • Sobering, and sad exposition of history.

  • Indians have also murdered Christians… and other people, Pohawtan tribes (lead by Chief Opechancanough) attacked smaller colonies (BTW, by coming in offering food and such, then grabbing random weapons and tools)- killing more than half of the population (women and children).

    I’m glad we’re past that…

The plague was not engineered, it happened… and people on both sides died.

Neither of those things really had to do with belief in God or Christ.

Most people who have actually READ the proclamation (I have) AGREE that it really had nothing to do with the word of God… but was instead issued by perhaps fearful and ignorant men… (Here, in spain, etc) Many of the indians who understood spanish more and more actually willingly agreed to the proclamation, others did not.

And I don’t really think that writing, producing and singing a song that promotes hatred against CHRISTIANS really solves the problem.

If there were injustices done, yes, we should be informed… but hatred is rampant in every corner and should not be rationalized, lest we rationalize hatred for ANY group that EVER did anything wrong/made mistakes/were misinformed/or made poor choices based on fear and ignorance (NOT the bible or Christ).

Romans brutally murdered Christians (women, children and men)… I don’t hate Rome OR Romans, or people who worship Roman g_ds.

People hate Christians, people hate Muslims, people hate Indians, people hate gays, etc etc…

Allowing such songs and rants is like the pot calling the kettle black. It really doesn’t inform, it merely makes everyone go into a rage on both sides for different reasons.

I think the only real way to move on is NOT to abolish thanksgiving, but to find a way to recognize that hatred should not exist on either side, or for anyone in that matter except perhaps for those who do evil (PEOPLE not groups…) :P If we are talking about there being evil people in Christianity, I probably would hate them too, and guess what? So does God.

  • Sorry, came across your site, and had to jump in.  It
really can’t be said that only christians murdered the Indigenous people
of North America. Were there people that identified as christian who
committed atrocities against the Indigenous people?  Of course.
However, there were plenty of non-christians who stood by and did
nothing as well (and I’m not only talking about the “distant” past).  Do
you really think that things are on equal terms with Indigenous people
currently?  Yes, they’re not being slaughtered or overtly exploited, but
how much does the average American (christian or not) think about the
land they are living on, and how it was acquired?

  • OMG now my entire holiday is FUCKING RUINED, thanks a LOT!!!!!!!!!!
