  • Leave or Die

A gay couple in Clarendon, Texas, awoke Monday morning to find a death threat spray-painted on their front porch, an act of vandalism that has left them both fearful for their lives. Joshua Harrison and Jeremy Jeffers reported the hate-filled vandalism to the local police, according to Pronews 7. The message read, “Leave or die fags,” and it appeared not long after an area minister’s antigay advertisement was published in the local newspaper. Clarendon Church of Christ pastor Chris Moore’s ad listed the “platform” of the “Homosexual Movement,” which included this line: “Folks, don’t be fooled, the ‘gay’ agenda isn’t about ‘equal’ rights for gay couples. Their agenda would force everyone to compromise their values, make our children legal prey for pedofiles.”

Pronews 7 reported that the “source” of information cited in the ad, the National Coalition

of Gay Organizations, was a convention that was held in 1972.

Donley County sheriff Charles “Butch” Blackburn told Travis Ruiz that he does “consider it a hate crime.”

The two men, however, are planning to do just want the vandal ordered: leave Clarendon.

“It’s sad,” Jeffers told Pronews 7. “For the first time in my life, I have never felt this scared.”

  • This is so sad and so unacceptable.  I have a hard time finding words to describe how awful this is.  This couple is being harassed to the point of having to move, and yet the pervs and baby rapers are at large unharassed.   Doesn”t make any sense to me period.

  • So very sad that people isn’t able to evolve. I mean by this time we all should be ethically concient and respect people’s choices :( seems like we never overcame XIV century

  • It’s Texas, what do you expect? Texans are nothing but a bunch of ultra-conservative, Bible-thumping assholes/bitches. I would know, I lived there for…oh…11 years?

    Nonetheless, that’s fucking sick.

  • *sigh* people fucking suck

  • That is so sad, I feel sorry for the couple.

  • @Grannys_Place - I agree completely.  It is sad when we live in a world that a couple that is harming no one gets harassed, but people ignore rapists and other perverts.

  • can we PLEASE give Texas back to Mexico now?

  • UGH, some people are just assholes.  I’d say they buy a gun and protect themselves.  The police should do a proper investigation and put the person away for terroristic threatening.  And I can’t imagine a preacher speaking out against a certain kind of people.  I know it happens, just makes me sick.

  • How is it compromising your values to accept gay rights? That’s just insane. Just because a couple can’t have children completely biologically, does not make them pedophiles. People are so misinformed and prejudice nowadays. Makes me just sick. >.<

  • Horrible! :/

  • Fuck homophobic bigots.

  • This here, pisses me off. People like this, make all Christians look like homophobic jerk wipes. I do not stand for this kind of actions, as a matter of fact, if this happened in my town, I would personally beat the ‘christian’ as if it was the 60′s all over again. I am not OK with any kind of phobic actions towards any group of people. Christ said to love the world as he does. I don’t remember it saying ‘unless they are gay’, or ‘unless they are black’. last time I read it, It said to love EVERYONE. this person, is not a man of Christ. please, any one who thinks that all Christians are homophobic jerks because of the acts “Christians” do, understand that real Christians are not like that. real Christians are accepting of ALL kinds of people. no matter who you are, or who you were.
