Shame on….
Dave Silverman, President of American Atheists stated, “The American population is woefully unaware of the implications of a Mormon president because nobody is discussing the issue. Mormonism is a non-Abrahamic religion that has already used its money and might to impose its beliefs on the non-Mormon citizens of California.”
“We need to know if Mr. Romney supports these and other discriminatory actions of his church, for which he evangelized when it was still overtly racist, and to which he continues to donate millions of dollars. It’s a fair statement to say that all American citizens should be wary of a president who once proselytized, to Christians and Atheists alike, for a living,” Mr. Silverman said.
[Managing Director Amanda] Knief continued, “When President Kennedy was running for office, the American public demanded to know whether his first loyalty was to his Catholic church or his country, and he answered, in no uncertain terms, that he stood by this country and supported the separation of religion and government. All we are asking is that Mr. Romney address the same issue — as president, will he give his first priority to the U.S. Constitution or the Book of Mormon?”

The idea of a Mormon US president is a very scary one indeed. Never mind the racist and homophobic teachings of the church, but then the Mormons believe it is their duty to take over and rule the world with an iron fist in total theocracy. If Mitt Romney gets elected, there will be a worldwide holy war in the name of Mormonism. Mark my words.
i fucking hate mormonism
@voodoo_flower_child - But, but…what do you REALLY feel? Tell us!!
I like your brutal honesty.
@Unstoppable_Inner_Strength - oh, thanks =)
I know several mormons, but none of them are homophobes racist or sexist. I don’t know a ton about them, but I do know that the REAL mormons, the ones who actually do as they preach, those who “love all, as Christ did”, are amazing people. Although they are awesome people, some of the smaller details about their faith, I do not agree with. but that is not reason as to why I would not want to know them. It’s really sad to know that entire churches outcast those who do not believe the same thing. I went to a few services with my mormon friends, and I noticed a little hostility towards me. I stood out so much, I was not clean cut by any means, I wore every day clothing, my hair was a bit messy, and I did not have a book of mormon, but instead a NIV study bible. plus my clothing was a bit bright, so it drew attention.
The church beliefs are messed up. I will not defend them on that. when you get a group of them, they change into jerks. but when one on one with a mormon, they are awesome people. I don’t really know if I want a president to be mormon, but I don’t think I should care about his religion. the mormon church should have little power over him due to the separation of state laws. but again, I don’t know a ton on this matter, so I might be completely wrong.
