I am Updating this post to include some video tutorials at the bottom :)There are so many different ways to wear a head scarf. I thought that I would highlight a few for you. My favorite is the Rapunzel or braid.
It can be worn with any rectangular scarf and any accent scarf.
Take a rectangular scarf and tie it once, tightly, over your head. You should put the scarf in the middle of your head so that you have two ends that are equal in length.
Take the accent scarf and tie it over the rectangular scarf.
Begin braiding the two tails of the accent scarf with the two tails of the rectangular scarf. If you don't know how to braid using 4 pieces, you can treat the two accent tails as one tail and create a 3-pieced braid instead.
Finish the braid and secure the ends with a scrunchy
I really really love that one :)
Another is
The CrownPlace scarf over your head with one side of the scarf longer than the other side.
Switch the two sides (in the back) and pull the scarf tight at both ends.
Grab the longer side and twist it. Gently wrap it along the top of the crown of your head.
Tie the the two ends to one another. You can either tie them once together or make a double knot depending on your preference.
A google search will give you many many other styles too.

I don't know why, but when I see a woman wearing a scarf for hair covering, I think ...
Simple, reasonable, down to earth, gentle, kind, meek...I love it.
reminds me of "Little House On The Prairie" and I get all nostalgic, wanting to build a log cabin and split some wood. Oh that I could split some wood!
*What? What? Lassie, is Timmy in trouble? Take me to him girl!*@James3_1 - Thank you. My favorite is the braid. That is how I do mine a lot. I have also done the bun and the just put over the head and wrap around the neck...There are so many ways that women can wear it and it is so lovely and beautiful.
I leave my head uncovered a lot around the house with just the family but cover it to leave the house.
@James3_1 - LOL.....the good old days eh?
@James3_1 - what did you change the channel mid comment
Is the head covering for religious reason? I havent noticed you wearing a scarf or head covering before. Maybe I missed something when I was gone.
@Amilyn1223 - In Biblical times, women covered their heads with veils or
scarf as a sign of chastity and modesty. The unveiling of a woman's
hair was considered a humiliation and punishment (Numbers 5:18,
Isaiah 3:17, II Maccabees 4:6)
A woman suspected of adultery was disheveled and her covering was removed by the priest (Numbers 5:18-compared with Leviticus 21:10).
women always covered their hair (Ned. 30b; Num. R-9:1 6).
Girls did not have to cover their hair until the wedding ceremony. The general custom was to appear in public and in the presence of strange men with covered hair.
Cool! I like the first style best, too :)
@Kristenmomof3 - Thanks for answering I was just wondering. I think your scarf int he braid looks really nice.
@BarryDadof3 - Because that is how his brain works!
Those scarves are so gorgeous!
I posted a link on my site for wrappings, (we wear shilly shally's down in texas much the same way) but I think your description and pictures are far better! Some of those scarves are just beautiful!
GREAT styles, thanks for posting!
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
You always look so nice in yours. I wear mine all the time, but I look so different in mine and can't get used to the look. Thanks for sharing . Big Hugs
Wow, they really have made it fashionable and whatnot...cool :)
The rapunzel thing is neat, I suck at braiding my own hair so I would have to have someone else do it(braiding a scarf is probably not much different, so yeah)
@James3_1 - that's a really nice comment. i had to tell you that. :D
@James3_1 - i agree (w/ 1st comment)
hahaa. not so much the second one. but made me chuckle. lol.
@Kristenmomof3 - i will have to come back to this page again as a reference. cool! =)
These styles look like so much fun! I would wear the rapunzel one over something that covers my neck too, I think I could experiment with it a little and come up with a way to do that. But in the fall, since the layering adds warmth, not needed in the middle of summer.
I do the 1st style alot and the one when you do it that way and wrap it around the bun. Those are the most comfortable for me and cover all my hair.
I too leave my hair uncovered unless there are others besides my family in the house or if I go out somewhere. I also don't cover at work because I think I would send them into shock LOL!
