  • FENCING IN THE WILDPIGS (Analogy to Creeping Socialism)

NOTE: I got this from my friends blog and she got it from a circulating email, but a very good point!

There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some
exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab,
the professor noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing
his back and stretching as if his back hurt. The professor asked the
young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet
lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his
native country who were trying to overthrow his country’s government
and install a new communist government. In the midst of his story he
looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked, ‘Do you
know how to catch wild pigs?’ The professor thought it was a joke and
asked for the punch line. The young man said this was no joke. ‘You
catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting
corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat
the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence
down one side of the place where theyare used to coming. When they get
used to the fence, they begin to eat thecorn again and you put up
another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat
again. You continue until you have all four sides ofthe fence up with a
gate in the last side. The pigs, who are used to the free corn, start
to come through the gate to eat, so you slam the gate on them and catch
the whole herd. Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They
run around and aroundinside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they
go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have
forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept
their captivity. The young man then told the professor that is exactly
what he sees happening to America . The government keeps pushing us
toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the
form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned
income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops
(CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, free medical, etc., while we
continually lose our freedoms – just a little at a time. One should
always remember: There is no such thing as a free lunch! Also, a
politician will never provide a service for you cheaper than you can do
it yourself. If you see that all of this wonderful government ‘help’ is
a problem confronting the future of democracy in America , you might
want to send this on to your friends. If you think the free ride is
essential to your way of life then you will probably delete this email,
but God help you when the gate slams shut!

    ‘A government big enough to
give you everything you want, is big enough to take away everything you
    have.’ …. Thomas Jefferson

  • Yes, I have read this before and it is so true. I pray that others wake up before it is too late. My husband and I have been working to become self sufficient for the security because it does appear that our nation is heading on this slippery slope.

  • @amyjoseph - yes and sadly our nation seems to be going faster and faster down the slope :(

  • This is entirely TOO true, it amazes me how many people just don’t see it at all.

  • Oh Kristen so true….and scary

  • It is not popular, nor often understood that our government and Christianity in it truest Biblical form have never been reconciled. To disagree is to do so either in ignorance, or in hopes of deceiving, but the Truth is, the government is a creation of pagans based on philosophies that come from empirical evidence that was necessitated when the Tower of Babel became a dream, the dream of a people governing themselves and throwing off the ways of God to seek their own way…

And, ever since there has been war and corruption in politics, and there will never not be. For a government to present itself as Christian is not only not possible, it is contrary to Biblical Prophecy.

the Prophecies tell us man will never fix man, nor lead itself effetively.

    Never.

Why is this is so hard for Christians to accept? It is idolatrous to look to our national leaders to lead us as Christians when the agenda of the entire political system is the very reason the plagues are coming in the future.

Do you ever wonder why the churches are never quite what it seems they should be? Have you ever noticed how they somehow seem to be all supporting the government?

    Is this just a coincedence?

    No.

Please keep the Word of God flowing in your home. Read, Pray and speak all of the Biblical Truths into the hearts of your Husband and your children and you will be drastically changing our world more than you know, even though the end is what it is.

We have much to look forward too…

    In Jesus Forever,
    Charles

  • I have a friend, a good friend, who thinks it is a pride issue that I do not want to put my kids under the state’s health insurance program.  It would be so easy… we could buy a house of our own if we weren’t paying so much for the family’s insurance through my hubby’s job.  I wouldn’t have to live with my mil anymore! Talk about inviting. After all, we paid for it with our taxes, why shouldn’t we?

She just doesn’t understand that it’s socialism, pure & simple, & that I don’t want to add 6 more names to the list that will cause the gov’t to say “Look how many people use this.  Can’t you see that universal health care is a need?”  I don’t want to contribute to that line of thinking at all!

  • RYC: Thank you for your comments. Thanks a lot for the minis. I appreciated it.
I answered your question: Why I want to change my username on my blog March 12, 2008.
    Thanks again for your kindness.

God Bless you. Have A GREAT Day!

  • What a neat analogy.  I do think it is a slippery slope that most people don’t realize we’re going down.

  • Economy wise the world is set up against working families. My Husband quit his job because the Welfare Office took his Food Stamps, the SSI Office took his SSI and the landlord raised the rent, so that Chris was working for 2.00 an hour, after taxes.

We are both on SSI and the kids are both on Welfare. Life is not as easy as it seems. I can’t just “file for child support” without spending thousands on ANOTHER custody battle, like the first one I barely won.

I was born without needed bones in my back and he has Chrones Disease so bad he constantly is on medication for it. Even then he barely manages. All I have to say is that there is no free lunch, and sometimes it doesn’t help to work for one either.
