Family Traditions
The topic at Featured_Grownups is Family Traditions.
Do you
recall traditions from your childhood or some that you brought your
children up with –bedtime rituals, weekend routines perhaps..things
you found out just your family did?Well, I was raised by my grandparents.
I know one thing we did together every night when I was growing up was we would say our bed time prayers together.
Also every 4th of July week we would go to the camp grove. I loved going to the camp grove. I always had so much fun. There were preaching service Every morning at 9am and then in the afternoon during the adult service there was a service for children 12 and under in the children’s building.
In the evening at 7pm there was a message by the evangelist.
Then at night we would sleep in the cabin.
It was always such a great and wonderful time. Here is a picture of the two wonderful people who raised me.

Wonderful traditions
Sounds wonderful……
What a godly example your grandparents set for you. Such a blessing. I used to get very sad when I thought of the missing elements of my upbringing (because of the fact that it was abusive and godless) but I see it as God’s grace now. He uniquely designed my life to cause me to call out to Him, and He is truly Father to the fatherless. Now my prayer is the traditions with my children can be honed in such a way to whet their appetite for the Giver of Life. I hope they’re able to carry these things with them, as gifts of grace, to their own children someday, and I pray they point them to the One who loves them more than I ever could.
Here are a few we’ve done with our children:
Praying with them.. everyone in the family prays with everyone else!

Reading scripture over them as they drift off to sleep
Memorizing scripture together
Singing together
Very wonderful! Reminds me of my childhood memories too.. =)
What an enticing-looking place is Camp Grove. Even just looking at the pictures gives off an aura of joy and wonder. I can understand the wonderful memories you have of the place. Your grandparents are beautiful.
These seem like great traditions. The pictures of Camp Grove look really beautiful and oh so peaceful. It looks like it would have been a great place to relax and reflect.
Family traditions are important.

I’m not a overly outward religious person but I love Proverbs 31 and it’s my testament for living.
