  • Spring Time, Flower Time, Fun Time

Spring time is here. That means it is time to work on the flowerbeds. That is what we spent this morning doing. There is still a lot of work to be done and some flowerbeds that we haven’t even touched yet, but I thought I would share some pictures awhile.

In the iron kettle we planted this. I love these plants. It is called a Wandering Jew. I have no idea why it is called that. But I love it. It is a beautiful plant.

Here is another picture of it

Here is a picture of the walkway.

And here are two of the flowers planted along the walkway.

Next, here are pictures of the truck and tractor. They have solar panels and their headlights shine at night :)

Then here is a picture of the flower bed.

And last picture is of the pump trough

    The Wandering Jew -

Any botanist will tell you that the “Wandering Jew” is a unique species of
plant which – when given minimal sustenance – will nevertheless spread and grow.
Similarly, if you cut out its roots and plant it in other soil, it will
    regenerate itself and start anew.

This plant’s nomenclature is, of course, a comment on the Jewish People’s
ability to adapt to varied environments and conditions. “Wandering” is what
Jewish history has been all about. The Patriarchs and Matriarchs were nomads.
The Jewish nation itself was forged in Egypt and while wandering through the
Sinai desert – the only nation ever to establish its identity while wandering
outside its homeland. And for the past 2000 years we have been wandering the
    world.

  • Where did you find those adorable solar yard thingies?!?!  They’re great!  Beautiful job on your flower beds.  I need to start soon.   Our neighbor came over and disked our garden for us, but we need to till it and get it rowed.  Much, much to do.

  • @flipperiferous - They were made by someone

  • I’m excited. I’ve lots of spring bulbs starting to surface out front.

  • Looks very nice.

My mother was the gardener in the family.  I just grow weeds.

  • I love the iron kettle!  Gorgeous.  I played around in my flower beds too this weekend.  I still have a shepherd’s hook that I haven’t found the right home for yet.  :)   I want to hang my bird feeders on it but it doesn’t look right anywhere yet.  But I’m determined, lol.

  • I love the wondering Jew, I wonder if it would work here in Arizona(?).
So, how much are these wonderful little Solar Lights created in these unique Trucks-N-Tractors?

  • @Blessed2BeeAlive -  they were homemade by my cousin’s boyfriend.

  • @Kristenmomof3 - Wow, so for you it was probably free, or for a frugal penny.  But if I wanted one, or if someone else wanted one, how much would it cost?

  • @Blessed2BeeAlive - I don’t know. I dont think he makes them to sell

  • @Kristenmomof3 - Yes, like does he have a website link where he sells them @.  I’m just wondering.

  • @Blessed2BeeAlive - no. He doesnt have anything like that

  • Wow! I can’t wait to get out in my flower beds! Good Job!

  • @Kristenmomof3 - Oh, well…….: maybe he has contact information, etc…….!!
