Kristen and Brad, I scored Anselm 100%, who is he and is this ok or do I have to worry?

  • I got Anselm: Anselm is the outstanding theologian of the medieval period. He sees man’s primary problem as having failed to render unto God what we owe him, so God becomes man in Christ and gives God what he is due. You should read ‘Cur Deus Homo?’

    I scored 100% on him. haha… Second, with 93%, John Calvin. lol…

  • @yorel - Karl Barth

he rejected his training in the predominant liberal theology typical of 19th-century Protestantism. Instead he embarked on a new theological path initially called dialectical theology (due to its stress on the paradoxical nature of divine truth – for instance, God is both grace and judgment).

Barth was largely responsible for the writing of the Barmen declaration (Ger. Barmer Erklärung) which rejected the influence of Nazism on German Christianity—arguing that the Church’s allegiance to the God of Jesus Christ should give it the impetus and resources to resist the influence of other ‘lords’—such as the German Führer, Adolf Hitler. Barth mailed this declaration to Hitler personally.

he authored the Darmstadt Statement in 1947
