voter intimidation in Philly
Did you hear about the voter intimidation in Philly?
There are some black panthers trying to intimidate people into voting for Obama. Also trying to keep the press (Fox news) out.
The cops were called and the black panther with the weapon was taken away but the other black panthers are still there continuing the intimidation.

:/ It’s so sad that people would resort to these kinds of things (along with other illegal activities) in order to promote their candidate of choice. It defeats the purpose of having an election.
this seem suspicious to me… I mean nobody can go in and vote with another person… so how would they even be able to dictate who you vote for? and if you saw a group of thug like people in front of the building would you get out? I would drive to another building… or call the cops.
besides I have a hard time believing black panthers would *all* stand behind obama, considering many “race” related black groups have downed Obama or not being African America… and therefore not a ‘real black person”. there seems to be a lot of discussion on this topic betwixt them.
it seems to me likely the news needed a story and this is the best one they could muster up. sounds fishy to me honestly…
@HennyPenne - I have seen the footage. It is still happening right now. You can not go vote somewhere else. Here in Pa you have to vote at the place assigned to you.
I am praying that all individuals today and tomorrow, and in the future will be safe from physical attack because who they vote for. I am glad the election is almost over.

@HennyPenne - I’ve been watching from the beginning. They have on video one Black Panther with a night stick intimidating voters. On top of that, they’re in “uniform.” It’s REALLY legit.
@Kristenmomof3 - did you read that there is a bunch of KKKers our there claiming they are going to assasinate Obama? oh my… it’s always some stupid racist people doing something.
yeah… there will always be stupid, ignorant, and racist people out there. I seriously doubt these handfuls of people represent the entirety of the Black Panther group. (not that I think the group is good… but having heard their other speeches, I can see they don’t all agree with this tactic)
yes.. you may not be able to go elsewhere, but you can call the cops. and they are required to removing anyone far in front of the doors of the building that are not voting. demonstrators can only come so far up I believe. at any rate… I’m sue they have cops there now.
@Papillon_Mom - My point was I don’t think this is representative of all black panthers… and I’m sure it will be handled by the police. it’s not likely to go on all day.
@HennyPenne - Oh, yeah. It’s not representative of all of them at all. The police have already been there though. While they removed the one with the nightstick, there was nothing they could do about the others.

My phone is turned off because the Obama people wont leave us alone. They keep calling evey hour asking if we are voting for Obama. IF we want them to drive us to the polls. How they can go with us and to make sure we vote for Obama.
You know how I hate talking on the phone. I turned it off.

I’m confused… why on earth aren’t the cops stopping that kinda harassment?! they never would have put up with it in Maryland! I’m confused… it shouldn’t even be an issue. is he right in front of the building? or off the property?

The Black Panther party was there because some white people were intimidating black people who were voting for Obama in NC last week. It was all on the news didn’t you see the footage? They played it over and over on all of the major networks. If you didn’t see it is was becuase you only watch Fox News.
The Black Panther Party got word that there were going to be similiar scenarios across the country. They were NOT trying to get people to vote for President Elect Obama. There were making sure an incident didn’t happen like that again. That is why the cops did nothing about it.

@yorel - LOL….do you have your head buried in the sand. It was on the news. Many many people have seen the video footage.I think it might even been on youtube if you want to search for it.
