Help — DSL
Ok I will soon be leaving the world of dial up. I will be entering for the first time ever the world of DSL.
It will be a few weeks until I get the DSL, but soon.
Which would you get…….
Speed
Download/Upload 12 Month Promotional Rate
256K/256K $19.95/mo.
1.5M/256K $19.95/mo.This is cheaper then what we pay for dial up and it is a local company with local tech support rather then in India like the dial up service I am using now.
What is the difference between 256k and 1.5m? Which would you get if it was you?

@Hecalmsthestorm - What he said….
@Hecalmsthestorm - @Papillon_Mom -
After the promotion ends in 12 months we would be paying $10 more for the
1.5M then we pay right now for dial up (for the 256k it would be $2 more then
we pay now for dial up)
They are the same price??? That is crazy. I would find out how much it is after the promo period though.
The 256 means kilobytes per second and the 1.5 is megabytes per second or 1500 kylobytes per second. Definitely go with the 1.5 it will be MUCH faster but again, check the price after the promo runs out. The 1.5 may jump up pretty high.
@Kristenmomof3 - Since you are goiing to have 5 times as much download bandwidth I sure would go with the 1.5.
@Hecalmsthestorm - ok…That’s What Barry was thinking.
Correction: 6 times the bandwidth. (It is still early)
@Hecalmsthestorm - yup….early on your BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!
I would definitely go with the 1.5m because it will be faster. You will definitely notice this if you download alot – like videos, mp3′s etc; or if you care to stream tv shows, radio shows, etc. The extra $$ will be very much worth it……. After you’ve had it for awhile, you will wonder how you ever did without it!!!!!
