Wow…no prior notice? Don’t they have to give you a few weeks notice before a layoff??
I am adding my prayers.
In my prayers!
Praying!
Definitely in my prayers. So many are in the same boat! I’m so sorry!!
@NightCometh - nope no notice. Thursdays are the last day of the work week at his job, so really no notice as in being told on the last day that they are working that it is the last day until further notice. The last day for at least 2 weeks maybe ever for some (or all) of them.
oh no! what does he do, btw? if i know anything available I will let you know for sure.
@Kristenmomof3 - Ok, are there more than 50 employees at the company?
You guys are in my prayers!
Go read this article…they just toughened laws about layoffs with no notice:

Praying that God will provide . You’ve been faithful …….. He always takes care of His own ! Please let me know if there is anything i can do beyond praying . I don’t have much ……. but if needed i am willing to help . Kevin . Trust in the Lord with all your heart , and lean not on your own understanding . In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path . Confident He will come through !

Praying and have a few ideas that might help. My husband just got back to work after being off a month- last time was much longer. Here are some ideas that might help.
Look for a good staffing agency that can match his skills with a good company. Also try http://www.monsterjob.com
If he has never done one before- have him put together a resume and drop those off to places he’d like to get into.
That way you control what info. you give not the other way around. Makes him look much more profession too!
Make careful use of the last pay and get as many stables and dry goods as possible. Do not hesitate to go to food banks and churches that offer food for those in need. Having too much pride will only make you starve.
Also do not hesitate to get unemployment- you paid enough out in taxes- get as much as that as you can.
If you have kids you can get on WIC ( at least in Ohio) and that is wonderful and the people are nicer to you there then in the unemployment office.
It will feel really over whelming at 1st but it will pass in time- once things settle down. Also contact your creditors hopefully those are few and let them know. Most of them are willing to work with you.
Before you shell out all you have in bills and panic…. There are only a few bills that “Have To” be paid- Rent/house payment, the car insurance and payment, utilities and food/ gas for the car- everything else can wait – even it they try to tell you otherwise.
Please know that I am praying for you! I have Sooooooo been there and more then once!
Hope the flowers brighten your day! I know how hard it is to go through this with little children!
I asked Sean and he doesn’t know of anything. since we just moved here we don’t know anyone really. what kind of manufacturing? (that can mean so many things). can he do manual labour stype stuff? or are his skills more computer related or???
I’ve been praying about you all evening.
Praying, and remembering James 1:2-4 with more than just sentimental value. You know that God is Sovereign, and you know that His Word will not return void sister. I will pray, but make sure you trust Him.
If I can help in any way, let me know. I am not rich, but if it gets tight, let me know. Seriously. I will do what I can.
Hi Kristen, my husband was laid off two weeks ago. He’s applying for Medicare, but I still don’t have medical insurance. Would appreciate your prayers also. Thanks. Carolyn
Hope is not for long and he’ll be back to work
