Pictures from the recent storm and note about accident
In the Amish community there was a horrible accident Sun. eve. A pickup truck lost control on the 340 and went into the other lane hitting another pickup sideways on the drivers side. Amish boys were driving both trucks. (Some of the Amish boys get vehicles before they join church) Two Amish brothers age 18 & 19 were killed. They live in the same area, Nickle Mines, as where the Amish school shootings took place. The family is really broken up as you can imagine. It is said the mother of these boys is the one that put the Heartland Hymnbook together , a very popular hymnbook with the young people. the paper said they were on their way to a volleyball game and hymn sing.
now on to the photos of the storm the other night.
There was a twister…plus a lot of damage because of the huge hail. One car lot had all the cars totaled because of the hail. Keep all the families affected by this in your prayers please.
Shalom

Oh that is really sad, such destruction.
How did you guys go?
Sad about those boys and so young.

I did not hear about the storm. Was it bad where you are?
@Hecalmsthestorm - The twister and bad damage was about 5-10 minutes from our house. We were on the good side we only got hail and rain but no bad damage at our house
Your storms are very scary. No thanks! I don’t know if I could live there.
That looks so frightening. Where we are, twisters are a very rare occurance. So sad about the boys.
Oh wow – that looks bad. So sorry to hear about the boys and I will pray for their families.
I love your new layout but the text is really hard to read on this red background. I will pray for those involved in the accident.
I live in Southern Califronia now, but I grew up in the Midwest. I remember when we first moved out here, when I was in middle school, we were here for about a month when they had a big warning on TV, look out for the biggest storm of the year, and the whole area was on ‘Storm Watch’. We were lashing down things in the yard and making sure that the storm covers were installed on the windows.
It then proceeded to drizzle for three days.
I am sometimes extremely ready to move back to the real world.
Wowsa!! Praise God you’re okay!!
@Papillon_Mom - yeah, I feel bad for all the people who lost their roofs and trailers and cars etc. and feel really stupid because we didn’t go into the basment. I didn’t realize how bad it was. I am so happy that G-d protected us in our ignorance of how much danger we were actually in.
wow we got lucky… we had high high winds, torrential rains, and lots of hail but nothing like that twister!!
My goodness, what a mess in your area. I hope there was little in the way of people being hurt but with this mess I would say luck would have to have played a part to prevent it. I am really sorry to hear of the boys who were killed I can’t think of more kindly and hardworking and loving people than the Amish. They have had a lot of late to be unhappy about. God bless those in the community with whatever their needs. Thanks for the informative post.
praise God you all were safe. i had no idea it was this bad this close to where you were!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when did this all happen??? saturday or sunday?
wow, i love your background. beauticious! i might be a stealing that one for a while at some point. the challa one was beautiful, but i was getting so hungry all the time. lol.
@Kristenmomof3 - i’m so glad you were protected too even if you didn’t know it was that bad until afterwards. that’s happened to me too…only to find out later how blessed we were. thank the good Lord you all were safe! wow, all that destruction around you testifies to how blessed you were.
@YouTOme - feel free to use it
I made it a theme that all can use
The storm was Sunday
@Kristenmomof3 - thanks =) oh okay.
wow, that’s crazy.
What are those things on either side of the quarter? I can’t figure it out. I also like the new background image. Is it from some outfit or table cloth you own?
I am sorry that you had that kind of excitement over the weekend =(. I know that the community will be comforting the family; but still…the loss of two promising young lives is devastating.
bless you
cm
@IMChurchmouse - the stuff on either side of the quarter is hail. The quarter is used to show how huge the hail was.
@IMChurchmouse - Thank you for the compliment on the background….maybe I will stick with this one for awhile now….I am really happy with how my page looks right now.
@Moreh_Mouse - No earthquakes?
@Kristenmomof3 - Love the new background. The two Amish brothers 18 and 19 must have been like 18 months apart and reminded me of the closeness in age that my two older boys have too. Just prayed for the family to find comfort in the L-RD. Were there any fatalities due to the storm? Wow, the damage it did make. Praise the L-RD for His protection keeping you all safe. Have Barry look at the roof for damage just in case. You’ll want to make insurance claims if you need repairs. Shalom.
Wow. I’d say that was a storm.
These pictures are pretty shocking.
P.S. I love this layout.

We get a lot of that sort of thing around here – the power of nature is astounding.
Wow! That sounds quite nasty. I’m thankful to be out of tornado alley! Are you in PA, then?
@homefire - yes…Pennsylvania
Tornadoes are no fun. Glad you made it through okay. I hope your home did not suffer too much damage.
