  • Texting While Driving

Nine of ten Americans (89 percent)  believe that texting messages or emailing while driving is dangerous and distracting and should even be banned, furthermore, 91% compare the jeopardy it implies to that of driving after one has had a couple of drinks. What is astonishing is that two in three drivers (66 percent) admit reading text messages or emails while behind the wheel and also 57 percent admitted to sending text messages or emails while driving.

Do you text and Drive? Do these videos make you think?

  • For love of Basketball or Religion????

A Muslim woman has been told by Swiss basketball authorities she can't wear a headscarf when she plays in league games.

Sura Al-Shawk, a 19-year-old Swiss citizen of Iraqi origin, is to debut in a regional women's league when the season starts next month. Her team, STV Luzern, sought permission for her to wear the scarf.

However, the Swiss association ProBasket said Thursday it follows the rules of FIBA, the world governing body. FIBA says the sport has to be neutral, forbidding religious symbols and headcovers.

''If basketball is priority No. 1, international rules have to be respected,'' ProBasket told the Swiss newspaper Neue Luzerner Zeitung. ''If religion is priority No. 1, then you cannot play basketball.''

It added that STV Luzern will lose its games by default if Al-Shawk plays with her headscarf. Al-Shawk says she was surprised by the decision but has not said what she will do.

''I really can't understand what is happening here,'' she told the newspaper. ''I would not have thought it possible that in a country like Switzerland a headscarf in sport would pose a problem.'' Continue reading

  • Paid with Clothes....

Well, my daughter (8 years old) has been helping watch her great grandmother (My grandmother). She watches her some during the day and sleeps downstairs with her at night.

She has been paid for what she is doing by both of my aunts.

My one aunt bought her a few stickers and a drawing pad and colored pencils. S leaves those things downstairs in her great grandma's part of the house for something to do while watching her.

My other aunt took S today for a new shirt for school. Well the new shirt turned out to be 2 new shirts and a zip up sweater for school.

So she was paid for what she does...with clothes. Payment that most 8 year old girls would love :)

So here are some pictures of the clothes.

  • Update on Job situation

I have basically given up on my job hunt right now. I will wait to see if I get an interview at any of the places I still have applications at. If I do then I will gladly work at them if any of them offer me a job.

If not I am stopping (I have run out of ideas of places to put in applications) and will try again in a few months (putting in applications at all these places again lol). And will just continue to trust in YHWH that He knows what is best and that He will supply our needs and that He loves us and will take care of us.

Hopefully the job market will be better then Yah willing.

Thank you for all the prayers and the continued prayers. They are greatly appreciated. Continue reading
