Well, I just had to peek in and see what you are all up to.

    How was your week?

  • NOT IN MY HOUSE!!!!

    Oh no….Not in my house!!!

I couldn’t believe it this afternoon. There was a WASP in my house. Needless to say after much bug spray it is now a DEAD WASP!!!!

  • crayon cookies

    Assalamu alaikum / Shalom

Today I did something because someone else said about it and I just had to do it too.

    I made crayon cookies

We started by peeling the paper wrappers off of all the broken crayon bits.

We pre-heated an oven to 300 degrees and popped in our tray.

After about 5 minutes they are melted and I pull them out of the oven

I let them cool on the stove top for about 10 minutes and then pop them in the freezer for 15 minutes

After that they just pop out of the tray

    Have you ever done this?

  • Please Pray for Jessica’s Family

Jessica J. Dankers, 16, of Myerstown and Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday August 25, 2009 in Myerstown.

Jessica and a few of her friends went swimming on Tuesday. Around 12 Jessica was out at the deeper end of the pool on an innertube the rest were towards the shallow end and the dock. Suddenly they heard her yell and saw her slip over the edge into the water. Jessica didn’t know how to swim very well and panicked when she went under. The owner of the pond swam in to see if he could find her but he couldn’t. 911 was called and arrived quickly and started the rescue search. They found her two hours later quite a ways from the place where she went under.

She was born in Lancaster on November 1, 1992, and was the daughter of Sarita V. (Gonzalez) Dankers, wife of Emilio Santiago of Lancaster, and Jeffrey W. Dankers, also of Lancaster. For her schooling, she resided with H. Stephen and Sandra Ebersole and their family of Myerstown, and she was a member of the Shirksville Mennonite Church.

In addition, she is survived by her brothers, Hector Romero of Lancaster, Joshua Santiago of Lancaster, Stephen and Kevin, both of Detroit, MI; sisters, Valerie Zehr of Waterloo, NY and Stephanie of Lancaster.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jose Juan “Joey” Romero.

Funeral services will be held Saturday August 29, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mellinger’s Mennonite Church, 1916 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster. Viewing will be held on Friday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
