Greywalker
Greywalker (Greywalker #1)
by Kat RichardsonHarper Blaine was your average small-time PI until a savage assault left her dead for two minutes.
When Harper comes to in the hospital, she begins to feel strange. She sees weird shapes and a foggy grey mist.
Harper’s death has made you a Greywalker. She is able to move between our world and the one where things go bump in the night… a world of vampires, ghosts, magic, witches, and necromancers.
I have to say the use of pagers made the book seem out of date. I mean who uses pagers? It is a texting/cellphone world….pagers???
Fans of Laurell K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake may enjoy this book. It is a milder and less graphic book then Anita Blake but it is good. I think fans of Buffy and Charmed are two other groups who will love this.
This is an urban-fantasy book and not a paranormal-romance. It is a crime and mystery book too.
Suggested readers: older teen and up
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars

I enjoyed this book myself. The author fixed the pager problem in the sequel (apparently she wrote Greywalker back when people used pagers! it just took awhile to get it published lol).
Have you read The Dresden Files, by any chance?
@Doitean - yeah, in the second one she breaks down and gets a cellphone. I have not read The Dresden Files
@Kristenmomof3 - I highly recommend them. The first novel in the series, Storm Front, is a decent (but not great) book, but the second is much better, and the series gets steadily better with each book. It’s a great series.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your site, and am sooo envious of how much reading time you have! I’m not really a fan of young adult novels, but I did like the Hunger Games. I am looking for a new book for the weekend, and could use your advice.
@BoulderChristina - the devil inside
a discovery of witches
touch the dark
Dante Valentine
The forest of hands and teeth
@Kristenmomof3 - Awesome! I didn’t care much for TFH&T, but which of the others do you recommend that I can blow through in a weekend? I can’t believe this didn’t pop up in my feed?
Dante Valentine sounds cool, looking up reviews now! Thank you so much!
hahhahaa. i never had a pager.
i like your review. brief, but descriptive enough for me to be intrigued.
well done, Kris.
