We came, we saw, we had fun
April 27th - April 29th Guild Wars 2 first open beta weekend. Open to all who have per-purchased the game.
I am loving GW2. I tried out a few different character combos. My favorite was the human ranger.
The story line is really good. I also enjoy how you make choices and depending what you choose causes major changes. Like choosing if you are going to save your friend or save the whole town. Which do you choose? The life of the one or the life of the many?
Divinity's Reach is huge and old Lion's Arch is underwater and there is a new Lion's Arch.
Another really cool thing is that your attacks vary depending on what weapon you are using.
GW2 is like GW in the fact that you pay once to play. You buy the core game and never pay a monthly fee.
I am looking forward to the next beta weekend.

I've never played GW but it looks amazing. Beautiful environments. The underwater area in particular is gorgeous.

is this more like a MMORG or more like an x box game? we play eq2 (I don't play much, but sometimes) I relate to enjoying the ranger, I like the bow and arrow, it's fun. My assassan is my most fun ranger. my most fun toon is a coercer tho. she's SUCH a mind fucker. the ranger is cool tho, sneaking around behind people's backs all the time, heh heh heh.
Is under water breathing automatic? I swear I've drowned so many times in EQ which is almost as ridiculous a way to die as falling off the planet, if not more so.
@DivaJyoti - It is a MMORPG. The underwater breathing is automatic. You are given a breather.
@Kristenmomof3 - another problem I would have is I would think it was on and it would expire and I'd start drowning and then I panic! I start yelling "I'm drowning" and dog goes "swim Up" and I'm like "I forgot how!"

. Then they fixed it in EQ gave it longer duration but still. some characters are born with it (underwater breathing). We'll have to look at this mmorg. dog likes to beta games. I don't like underwater because I'm always dying extra! hahahah! I'll ask dog if he knows this one.
looks like you'er a cat, eq2 has cats. my assassin is a cat, or used to be (you can change them) dog LOVES making cat toons. I prefer making humans.

sounds like fun. i was a night elf beast-spec'd hunter in World of Warcraft, decked out in Epic gear. i was a co-guild leader and our guild completed end-game instances many times to get our players geared up. but what i was proudest of was even during a period when Epic nerfed hunters people wanted me in on their 5 man instances. okay so part of the reason they wanted me was for my jokes haha. later the two arguably best players on the server wanted me with them on every 5 man instance they ran. one was a fire-spec'd mage who did more damage than any mage on the server. the other was a tank warrior who held aggro better than any tank i'd run with. they called me the best hunter on the server. the game was too time consuming though and after nearly 5 years i called it quits .
