It’s hokey like all of his songs, but I don’t see how it is racists. Which part is the racists part? It’s a song about how people stereotype each other without even knowing a single thing about the person except the color of their skin and the kind of clothes they like to wear. It is just as easy to stereotype someone as a racist piece of white trash because of what they are wearing as it it is to label someone a thug based just on what they are wearing. Few people look beyond that. When I first moved to the South, I will admit that I was guilty of judging ALL white people that liked the Rebel flag as the same until I meet a few that I took the time to get to know.
@Erika_Steele - that was my general line of thought too. Some people think it is very racist though
People seriously think this song is racist? I got the same message as Erika_Steele did. I’m pretty sensitive to racism, and I wasn’t offended at all by the song.
I am with what Erika said. This song isn’t racist at all.
‘Brad Paisly, featuring LL Cool J”
Yeah… clearly racist.
it’s not available, now.

All you need to know
I don’t think he’s racist, but he did take issue with being called racist for wearing a T-shirt during a concert with Alabama as the logo and a tiny confederate flag among other flags in the design.
Then he comes out with this song and explores the issue, and is somewhat misguided, with LL Cool J. LL made this song worse. I’m sure he meant well-intention for this song, but his verses were misguided and borderline racist.
1. Compared the Confederate flag with sagging pants and do-rags… really?
2. “If you don’t judge my gold chains… I’ll forget about the iron chains…” really now?
3. “RIP Robert E. Lee but I’ve gotta thank Abraham Lincoln for freeing me, know what I mean…” yeah, not sure if they are joking or if they really think this was okay.

If anyone thinks he’s racist, then they must also assume that LL Cool J is racist as well.
Personally, anyone that thinks Paisley is racist is a racist, because they don’t talk about LL Cool J being racist. Which means, they only think one race can be racist. If one thinks certain personal qualities can only be attributed to one race, that by definition, makes that person a racist.
No.
